Required criteria:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in welding or fabrication.
  • Have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precision in measurements and profiling.

About the role:

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.
  • Clean and prepare parts before welding.
  • Operating a MIG welder to tack and weld components.
  • Visually inspecting all welds and when they have been completed and having the ability to recognise any faults.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Safe and controlled movements of production parts and meeting set targets whilst working on the production line.
  • Operating lifting equipment such as a jib or overhead crane.
  • Use of equipment such as an angle grinder.
  • Inspect fabricated components for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • To meet agreed production targets according to customer demands.
  • To carry out the agreed preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Monitor equipment and request maintenance when required.

Other

  • To adhere to SFM Engineering’s policies and procedures.
  • To carry out any other duties within reason and capability associated with this role.
