Required criteria:

• A minimum of 1 years experience in welding and or fabrication.
• Previous overhead crane experience.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Northern Ireland/UK and travel throughout the island of Ireland if required; if you do require a visa/work permit allowing you to work in Northern Ireland/UK you must upload a copy of it with your application. Failure to provide a relevant Visa/Work permit may result in your application not being considered.

Responsibilities

Welding

• Operating a MIG welder to tack and weld components.
• Welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions based on project requirements.
• Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.
• Assembling fabricated parts into final products or structures according to specifications.
• Using hand tools and power tools to join metal parts together, ensuring proper fit and alignment.

Quality Control

• Inspecting completed welds and fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
• Performing visual and dimensional inspections to ensure weld integrity and structural soundness.

Equipment Maintenance

• Performing regular maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Troubleshooting and repairing equipment issues to minimise downtime.

Safety Compliance

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines for a weld/fabricator such as the standard operating procedure.
• Ensure the work area is clean and free of hazards, including proper disposal of steel scraps and waste.
• Ensure you are wearing the correct PPE for the task you are completing such as an air red mask, flame retardant boilersuit, safety glasses, safety gloves, safety boots and hearing protection.

Material Handling

• Selecting appropriate materials for each project based on strength, durability, and other requirements.
• Handling and storing materials properly to prevent damage and maintain quality.
• Operating lifting equipment such as a jib or overhead crane.
